Easter Update - Friday 10th April
This week I felt like having some fun with colour, so I have dyed up lots of speckles and variegated colourways on our El Merino sock base. This base is wonderful for shawls, socks and garments. I have cast on another Colour Melt Shawl using three skeins of El Merino - one each of Mascara, Orchid and Space Out. This shawl pattern is perfect for using lots of colour and, as a little Easter treat, if you buy three skeins of El Merino you will get the Colour Melt Shawl pattern for free, no code needed!
Below is just a few of this week's colours.
As always, our update goes live Friday at 9am. Wishing you all a wonderful Easter break and, as always, Happy Knitting ♥
Coastal - Friday 3rd April
This week, we are really excited to be introducing another new yarn base. Coastal is a fingering weight, 50/50 blend of superwash merino and cotton. This yarn is very soft and knits up into a lovely drapey fabric. It's fabulous for people who live in warmer climates and for spring/summer items.
This yarn is a little different than most of our other bases: it has 50% cotton that resists our protein-reactive dyes. This means that the yarns dye up with lovely heathered hues. I've been designing a summer top using Coastal and I've really enjoyed working with it, so much so that I'm casting on another top in this yarn. Perfect for all types of projects, from shawls to tops and cardigans, we think you're really going to love Coastal!
Our new Coastal yarn will be available in the shop Friday 3rd April.
Colour Melt Shawl Kits - Friday 27th March
This week, we have been busy putting together fun kits for our pattern, the Colour Melt Shawl. This pattern was released a few years ago and included instructions for a three-colour version (see this version below). We have now updated and refreshed the pattern to include instructions on using six colours (see above) as well as a choice of two different borders.
Our kits that we are offering this week are for the six-colour version. Each kit contains six 50g cakes (yes, cakes!) in a mix of our fingering weight bases. The colourways are mostly OOAK. If you buy a kit, you can also add the pattern to your cart and it will magically become free during checkout.
If you already have the yarn and are just after the pattern, you can find it over on Ravely or here on our website.
We have 20 kit combinations available and they are all OOAK so, when they sell out, they will not be back; grab your kits before they are gone! Check out a few of our kit combos below! If you are interested, we put together a Journal post all about this shawl, including how to choose and place colours; you can find that here!
Silk Road and Donegal Sock - Friday 20th March
We are introducing a new yarn base this week, Silk Road. This stunning yarn is a sumptuous blend of merino, silk and yak. It's incredibly soft and has a beautiful drape. The natural colour of this yarn is a medium toned brown/grey which adds a richness to all of our colourways. It really is a beautiful yarn. The yardage is 400 yards / 366 meters in 100g, highly recommended for shawls and spring to summer tops and cardigans. We've dyed up 25 colourways in our new base, check them out in the shop Friday!
We will also be re-stocking our Donegal Sock yarn. This yarn sold out very quickly last time, so this time we have made sure to dye up lots of skeins for each colourway.
Hope you enjoy this weeks bumper update!
New Pattern Release - Shoal
Our new design has just gone live! Meet Shoal, a super-comfy, easy-to-knit sweater designed using our super-squishy Winter Worsted.
This cosy, oversized sweater is knit from the bottom up in a simple broken-rib pattern. We've used a tonal colourway, Burnt Cherry; however, this sweater would also look fabulous knit up with a speckled or variegated colourway.
We will, of course, be stocking up our Winter Worsted yarns especially for the release of this design. All of the yarns will be available in our shop Friday! As always, the pattern is free if you purchase the yarns for this design.
Shoal can be purchased either here on our website or on Ravelry. Pattern details, including sizes and yarn requirements can be found there as well.
Donegal Sock and New Colourways - Friday 6th March
This Friday, we are introducing a brand-new yarn to our shop. Donegal Sock is a soft fingering-weight yarn that has tweedy neps spun through it. When knit up, these neps give a wonderful texture to the fabric as well as a pleasing tweedy speckle. Ideal for garments and shawls, we would also recommend this yarn for sock knitting.
This yarn dyes up like a dream, giving us the perfect excuse to dye up new colourways. We have 17 new semi-solid/tonal colourways dyed up on our new Donagal Sock base - all of which will be in store this Friday 6th March. Hope to see you there!
El Merino & Sport - Friday 28th February
This week we are topping up our shelves with El Merino sock and Skein Sport. We also have three new colourways, Lipstick On Denim, Posy and Enchanted Forest.
As always our yarns go live Friday at 9am, hope to see you there!
Uptown Sock and Mohair Silk Lace
This week we will be topping up the shop with our Uptown Sock and Mohair Silk Lace bases. These two yarns knit up beautifully together which is why we decided to pair them up for this weeks update! As usual you can get a sneak peak of what's being added via our Instagram feed. Our update goes live Friday 21st February, hope to see you there!
Valentines Update - Friday 14th February
This week we are topping up the shop with two of our most loved bases - Daintree and MCN Sock. Both of these yarns are loved for their softness and wearability. Daintree is a silky, drapey yarn that is perfect for tops and cardigans while MCN Sock is a soft, cushy yarn that is perfect for cuddly shawls. As always we will be posting spoilers over on our Instagram feed. Our update goes live Friday the 14th at 9am - hope to see you there!
New Pattern Release and DK Yarns - Friday 7th February
Today we are so excited to share a new release pattern, Red Cliffs Top by AbbyeKnits. This lovely design uses three colours of our Bliss DK (French Lavender, Henna Blush and Honey). We will have Bliss DK available in the shop Friday in all of these colourways and more!
I was lucky enough to test knit this design for Abbey. I used our Voyage DK which is a great substitute yarn for this pattern. The colourways I used were Polar Bear, Modern Love and Gothic Rose. All of these colours and more will also be available on our Voyage DK this Friday.
In the meantime, head over to Ravelry to get a copy of the pattern. There is a 20% discount available until tomorrow, so don't miss out!
Hope to see you Friday!
