This week we are showcasing our Skein Sport base that was used to create the Porto sweater.  We have dyed up eleven colourways that would be perfect for this design, including the original colourway Nebula.  If you purchase yarn for the Porto design, you will also receive a fee copy of the pattern! We have also just updated our website to allow you to buy our patterns directly on the website.  You can now download pattern PDFs and store them in your account.  This means we can offer free copies of our patterns with yarn purchases.  If desired, we can also send a copy of each pattern to your Ravelry library; just contact us with your username and we'll send it to you.

Happy New Year!  To celebrate our first week back for the new year, we have dyed up our Top Draw Sock in all the colours of the rainbow.  We will of course be posting spoilers over on our Instagram feed, so be sure to check those out.  As always, our update will go live on Friday 9am AEST.  Hope to see you there!

This is our last week before closing up the studio for the year.  We decided it would be fun to end the year by offering a few club subscriptions. We have opened up spots for two different yarn clubs.  The first is a brand new club,  El Merino.

El Merino has fast become one of our top-selling yarns, and it's no wonder.  This yarn is versatile and super soft, and lovely to work with and to wear.  It's great for shawls, tops, sweaters and more.  Because it is so popular we decided to create the El Merino Club.  Here is all the important information:

• You can choose between 1, 2, 3 or 4 skeins per month, depending on what you plan to make.
• Each colourway will be unique and never repeated.  You can expect a cohesive colour palette that may include a mix of speckles, tonals and semi-solid skeins.
• Clubs will begin shipping from mid-to-late January, with two more shipments in February and March. 
• We will be emailing all of our club members with shipment updates. 
• You will also receive a 10% discount for the next club if you choose to sign up again.

 

Do you love to knit socks?  If so, this club is for you!  We have sourced the ultimate BFL Sock base exclusively for this club. Our Sock Love yarn has a firm, 4-ply twist with a smooth hand that will knit up into comfy, yet durable socks.  You can expect lots of fun colourways that will have you itching to cast on.

This is what you will receive:

With 2020 fast approaching, we thought it would be fun to run a year-long KAL/CAL.  The idea behind this was to encourage everyone to step outside their usual 'comfort' colours and experiment with ALL of them. Initially, this was a personal goal as I tend to be constantly drawn towards purples and pinks.  Mid this year I challenged myself to use colours I don't normally gravitate towards, and I must say it was a lot of fun and my personal colour palette has grown considerably.  I've made it my goal to knit with a different colour each month, and would love to challenge everyone to do the same.

Here's how this KAL/CAL works

Each month we have assigned one colour:

 

• Choose a pattern (big or small) and simply use the assigned colour during that month.  For example, in January choose any shade of yellow you like and incorporate it into your project.  You might like to knit or crochet an entire sweater out of this colour or add a pop of it to colourwork or a shawl.  You decide how much or how little you want to use. 
• Share your projects on Instagram using the hashtag #2020knitallthecolors
• Feel free to use ANY YARN, it doesn't have to be Skein. 
• If you do use our yarn and you either tag us with #skeinyarn OR post a WIP or FO pic on Ravelry you will be eligible for a prize which we will be drawing each month!

And that is it! 

We will also be discounting colourways each month to coincide with the KAL/CAL.  An automatic discount of 10% will be applied on all of our in-stock and dyed-to-order yellows to get you started (click here).  So let's knit all the colours in 2020, it's going to be fun - I cant wait!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Get ready to turn up the volume with our new Covers Club!  We will be bringing you three months of exclusive colourways inspired by our favourite record covers.   Rock, punk, pop, grunge, jazz and maybe even classical will be making an appearance.  No matter what genre of music you're into, we will cover it!  Here's the details;

• Each month, for three months, you will receive a choice of either 1, 2, 3 or 4 skeins of Uptown Sock, dyed up in a special, non-repeatable club colourway. 
• The colurways for this club will be inspired by album covers, so expect lots of colour, speckles and maybe the occasional neutral.
• Clubs will begin shipping the third week of December, with two more shipments in January and February. We will be emailing all of our club members with shipment updates. 
• Price includes the total cost of the yarn for three months.  Shipping will be applied during checkout and is inclusive of all three shipments. 
• We intend to keep this rolling as a regular club, and will be offering a 10% discount at the end of the club if you do decide to join us again for another round.

This week we are adding new colourways to the shop!  We've been inspired by bright 80's and the grungy 90's and have put together a fun new collection for this weeks update.  Our yarn bases this week are El Merino sock and Skein Sport.  Check out our Instagram page for sneak peaks of the new colours (pictured above is Modern Love).  If you happen to miss out on your favorite colourway don't despair, all of our new colours will be added to our regular line up.

Our Luxury Club is back!  Spoil yourself by signing up to our Luxury Club and receive special deliveries of our most luxurious yarn, Merino Cashmere Fingering.  Each month, for three months, you will receive a choice of either 1, 2, 3 or 4 skeins of Merino Cashmere Fingering, dyed up in a special, non-repeatable club colourway.  The colurways for this club will be chic and subtle, with just a dash of speckles or hint of colour variation.  Clubs will begin shipping the second week of December, with two more shipments in January and February.

This week our featured yarn is El Merino Sock.  This yarn has become a fast favourite, and it's no wonder.  It is a super-soft 100% superwash merino that knits up to produce a cushy fabric, making it perfect for shawls and garments alike. 

We've dyed up a nice selection of colourways and have tried to pair colours together for those of you interested in colourwork.  Below are just a few and, of course, you can see them all Friday at 9am in the shop!

 

 

This week we received a copy of Melanie Berg's newest book, Colorwork Shawls.  This book is jam packed full of beautiful shawls that Melanie has designed over the last few years.  We were lucky enough to collaborate on the My Cryptonite shawl which uses three of our past colourways: Graphite, Jersey and Electric Dreams.

To celebrate the release of Colorwork Shawls, we have put together a few My Cryptonite shawl kits using our El Merino Sock base.  Each kit contains all the yarn you need to make the shawl. Here are the kits:

 

We are super excited this week to be releasing new colourways!  Our inspiration comes from all the beautiful spring and autumn colours that appear this time of year (depending on what hemisphere you live in!).  We have developed a mix of speckled and tonal, lights and darks.  You can mix and match a lot of these colourways which would be perfect for colourwork pullovers or fun shawls.  What's even better is that all of the colourways have been dyed on our affordable and versatile Everyday Sock.  We have also included a lot of our popular regular colourways in this update as well.  The main picture above is one of our new colourways called Secrets. Our Voyage DK is now available on tap, meaning it is ALWAYS available (yay!).  You choose the colourway and we'll dye it up for you.  Dyed to order takes around 2-3 weeks to ship and, if for some reason your yarn is going to take longer, we will email you.  You can choose from any of our current colourways here.  Perfect for buying sweater quantities and yarns for colourwork.
