We have lots of goodies available in this week's update! 

Firstly, after last week's very successful 'My Cryptonite' update, we have added more kits.  You'll find three of the most requested colour combos ( #3, #9 and #11), only this time the base is MCN Sock instead of MCF.  Please note that the pattern, 'My Cryptonite' by Melanie Berg, is not included in the kit and can be purchased separately via Ravelry.  And, if you do buy a kit, please come and join our KAL!

Secondly, we have had numerous requests for more worsted and DK weights; we heard you all and this week both are available!  You'll find Winter (our worsted yarn) and MCN DK in a nice array of semi-solid, speckled and variegated colourways - great for cardis, hats and cowls.

And finally, we have lots of bright and beautiful sock yarn begging to be knit into socks or shawls.  Our sock bases this week include MCN Sock and BFL Sock.  We also have a few mini skeins to add some nice contrast to your project.

This week will see the release of Melanie Berg's newest shawl design 'My Cryptonite', which is the result of a collaboration between Melanie and Skein.  To celebrate the shawl's release, we will be stocking up the shop with colour kits that include three skeins of Merino Cashmere in colours that will knit up perfectly into your own 'My Cryptonite' shawl.  There will be eleven colour combos to choose from:

Please note that the kits do not include the pattern, which is available to buy on Ravelry.

Kits will be in store on Friday 26th August at 9am AEST!  So don't forget to pop on over to the shop and get yours!

We thought it would be fun to do a My Cryptonite KAL!  Feel free to use any Skein yarn that you have in your stash, or treat yourself to a colour kit; whatever works for you.  The KAL will run until October 31st, so there is plenty of time to get your yarns and finish the shawl.  The KAL will be run over in our Ravelry group, so come and join us!  The colour combo I'm using is #9 (Paintbox, Ice On A Windowpane and Jersey) - it's a lot more subtle than Melanie's but I am LOVING it.  I can't wait to see what you put together.

Once again, it's update time!  This week, we will be stocking up the shop with lots of Voyage DK, Pronto (our scrumptious chunky yarn), Uptown Sock and our glitzy Shimmer sock (with added stellina, yay!).  We've dyed up a nice array of semi-solid, speckled and variegated including some of our new colourways.  All yarns will be in-stock Friday 19th August at 9am AEST; hope you can pop by for a visit!

This weeks update is a bit of a mixed bag.  We've been busy in the studio dyeing up plenty of Top Draw and Uptown Sock, as well as adding a bit of Winter worsted and Skein Sport.  We've also had fun mixing up our colourways, meaning there's a nice mix of semi-solid, tonal and speckled available PLUS a new colourway called Husk.

This week, we are bringing you a sock yarn bonanza featuring three of our most popular yarns: Top Draw Sock, Merino Cashmere and Skein Minis!  Great for shawls, socks, hats, mitts, cardigans - you name it.  Plus we also are introducing a new colourway called Crema, which is a basic cream colour that goes with EVERYTHING!

This is the second week of Sock Love updates, and we've saved the best for last!  Top Draw Sock is so versatile: it's soft yet strong and drapes beautifully, which means it's wonderful for socks, shawls, garments and more!  We also have a ton of Mini Skeins which are baby 20g Top Draw skeins, perfect for sock blankets, colour accents in shawls and garments as well as contrasting heels and toes!

We've chosen all the popular colourways, including the new and very popular Safari and The Cat's Meow. Plus, we have a stack of Mystery Minis!  Add some mystery to your order by selecting a Mystery Mini or two (or three!!). The colourway of each mini will be a surprise until your order arrives - how fun!

This week's update is a bit of a mixed bag: firstly, we have two new colourways to introduce!

Meet Moonstone and Punk. These wonderful new colourways have been dyed in two tones, so that one half of the skein is one colour and the other is a contrasting colour with speckles.  These will knit up to produce random stripes in socks, and are guaranteed to put some fun in to your knitting.

Also new this week is the introduction of Mystery Minis, where we get to choose Mini Skein colourways for you.  This way, you will get a nice surprise when your package arrives!  Select a mini skein or two (or as many as you like!) and we will put together a nice little combo for you - fun!

In addition to the new colourways and the Mystery Minis, we have also been busy dyeing up lots of Top Draw Sock, Merino Silk Sport, Bliss DK and Merino Silk Lace in lots of lovely colours.  So, please come check out this week's update on Friday 24th June at 9am AEST.

Before I go, I just wanted to let everyone know that for the next two weeks email replies will be slower than normal.  I'm taking two weeks off BUT the studio will remain open, shop updates will continue, and orders will still ship.  The only difference is that emails will be responded to once or twice a week until I return.

This week, we are super excited to announce the release of the Havana Swing Cardigan designed by Jess Gagnon.  The Havana Swing Cardigan features a relaxed raglan style, with a gorgeous cable running down the spine.  Designed exclusively for Skein, the Havana Swing Cardigan uses our Merino Cashmere Fingering, and the pattern info as follows:

We've been having a ton of fun this week dyeing up a whole heap of crazy new colourways.  These new colours were designed with socks in mind,but feel free to use them as you wish.  There are 19 fun colourways to choose from, all of which will knit up in random stripey socks like those pictured below, which were knit using 'Coconut Ice'.

We love the look of highly variegated yarn knit up using a basic sock pattern, which is why we decided to share our 'Vanilla' sock pattern.  'Vanilla' is our go to basic sock pattern that is perfect for beginner knitters or those who would like to try knitting socks for the first time.  This pattern is free and available to download on Ravelry - hope you enjoy!

Also this week, we are super excited to release our first batch of Mini Skeins!  These delightful baby Top Draw Sock skeins weigh 20g and are perfect for adding a pop of colour in all projects!  Great for sock blankets, adding contrast heels and toes for socks, stripes for shawls, baby socks and many other things. Each skein costs $10 and there are a stack of colours to choose from.

Our new crazy colourways, minis and a selection of speckled yarns will be available on Friday 10th June at 9am AEST, come on over to the shop and check them out! 

Crazy Colourway KAL

We thought that this week would be the perfect time to announce our next KAL!  Crazy Colourways are SO MUCH FUN to knit with and we would love to see what you knit with yours!  So, grab a skein of variegated Skein yarn (including speckled colourways) and cast on!  You can choose any pattern you like, whether it be a shawl, socks, hat, gloves - feel free to add in contrasting semi-solid stripes (check out our new minis!).  The KAL will be held over on our Ravelry Group, so check out the KAL thread for more info.
