This week, we are topping up the shop with yarns containing a blend of our favourite fibres: cashmere, silk, merino and bamboo.

We will be taking time off to move house from Monday 17/10 and will return to the studio on the 31/10.   All orders placed from 4pm Monday 17th/10  (AEDT) will ship when we return to the studio.  There will still be a shop update on the Friday 28th - more info about the update will be posted here soon.

This week's update is a real mixture.  Firstly, we have a have our regular update yarns which are the lovely Shimmer Sock with the added sparkle of stellina, MCN DK and a few Minis. 

We have also been doing a bit of stocktaking and have a TON of skeins laying around that are looking for nice homes to go to.  These consist of mainly one or two skeins per colourway (some are more), but they would be great to use in single skein projects or combined together for stripey shawls, cowls, socks or whatever your heart desires.  These skeins truly are a mixed bag with many different bases on offer; hopefully you will find something you love.  Our shop update will be held on Friday 7th Oct at 9am AEST (please note we are now in Daylight Savings Time!).

Recently we received a huge shipment of Top Draw Sock, and have spent the whole week preparing a massive Top Draw Sock Extravaganza.  We have over 40 colourways for you to choose from, including speckle-dyed, two-toned crazy colourways, semi-solid and variegated.  There is something for everyone!

Just to let you all know that we will be taking a short break from Friday until Thursday next week - there's a very special friend coming to visit all the way from Argentina who we can't wait to meet!  This means that all orders placed won't ship until Thursday 6th October; this includes orders from today's update.

Colourwise, we have a nice mix of semi-solid and speckles this week and we've made sure to include colours that will combine well together for all those fun multi-coloured projects!

It's almost update time again!  This week we were inundated with requests for four colour shawl kits (we're pretty sure this has something to do with the Westknit Mystery KAL, Mm-hmm), so of course we obliged.  Each Shawl Kit contains four skeins of yarn in a combination of MCN Sock and Shimmer.  The colours are chosen to both contrast and compliment each other; the Shimmer skeins will add another sparkly dimension to your project!  There will be three colour combos to choose from which are;

We also have plenty of single skeins of sock yarn, including a few Crazy Colours which are also available via the shop!

This week we will also be adding sport to the shop, including our deliciously soft and squishy Meadow (pictured above).  There have been so many beautiful fall patterns added to Ravelry this week, that it's hard not to resist the heavier weight yarns.  If you're a Skein aficionado, you might have spotted a new colour in the pic above: the middle skein called Metropolis is now available.  It's a very seductive smoky purple which looks fabulous combined with Crema and Antler.

Sport, Lace and Sock are the three yarn weights this week!  We have lots of bright Top Draw Sock in store as well as the beautifully soft Merino Silk Sport.  Perfect for light yet warm shawls and garments, Merino Silk Sport is a joy to knit and wear.

We also received a huge shipment of Merino Silk Lace which we dyed up in lots of delicious colours.  Since we have a lot of this yarn base in store this week, we thought it would be the perfect time to have a Rock Island Shawl KAL!

Rock Island KAL

Designed by Jared Flood, Rock Island is an intricate and beautiful lace shawl that would knit up perfectly using our Merino Silk Lace.  We have 14 colourways to choose from, so if you would like to KAL and don't have this base in your stash, head on over to the shop this Friday and grab one!  You only need one skein and the pattern can be purchased from Ravelry.  We have a thread for the KAL open on the group, so please come and join us in knitting this beautiful shawl.

We have lots of goodies available in this week's update! 

Firstly, after last week's very successful 'My Cryptonite' update, we have added more kits.  You'll find three of the most requested colour combos ( #3, #9 and #11), only this time the base is MCN Sock instead of MCF.  Please note that the pattern, 'My Cryptonite' by Melanie Berg, is not included in the kit and can be purchased separately via Ravelry.  And, if you do buy a kit, please come and join our KAL!

Secondly, we have had numerous requests for more worsted and DK weights; we heard you all and this week both are available!  You'll find Winter (our worsted yarn) and MCN DK in a nice array of semi-solid, speckled and variegated colourways - great for cardis, hats and cowls.

And finally, we have lots of bright and beautiful sock yarn begging to be knit into socks or shawls.  Our sock bases this week include MCN Sock and BFL Sock.  We also have a few mini skeins to add some nice contrast to your project.

This week will see the release of Melanie Berg's newest shawl design 'My Cryptonite', which is the result of a collaboration between Melanie and Skein.  To celebrate the shawl's release, we will be stocking up the shop with colour kits that include three skeins of Merino Cashmere in colours that will knit up perfectly into your own 'My Cryptonite' shawl.  There will be eleven colour combos to choose from:

Please note that the kits do not include the pattern, which is available to buy on Ravelry.

Kits will be in store on Friday 26th August at 9am AEST!  So don't forget to pop on over to the shop and get yours!

We thought it would be fun to do a My Cryptonite KAL!  Feel free to use any Skein yarn that you have in your stash, or treat yourself to a colour kit; whatever works for you.  The KAL will run until October 31st, so there is plenty of time to get your yarns and finish the shawl.  The KAL will be run over in our Ravelry group, so come and join us!  The colour combo I'm using is #9 (Paintbox, Ice On A Windowpane and Jersey) - it's a lot more subtle than Melanie's but I am LOVING it.  I can't wait to see what you put together.
