Pattern Crush - So Faded by Andrea Mowry
Our pattern crush this week is the fabulous So Faded sweater by Andrea Mowry. We've had many requests for colour combinations for this pattern, and have been secretly putting together six faded combinations dyed onto our popular Top Draw Sock. Here they are:
From the top
- Crema, Ghost, Confetti, Paintbox, Metropolis
- Sand, Woolshed, Pollen, Namaste and Prairie
- Glee, Techno, Neon and Grey, Speckled Mint and Graphite
- Misty Sea, Whisper, Eventide, Raven and Night Owl
- Barley, Spellbound, Peace, Lily Pond and Cafe Bleu
- Sherbet Fizz, Blush Crush, Spice Market, Head Over Heels and Terracotta Sun
Please note: each colourway is listed separately, giving you the freedom to select your own colour combination or swap out colours for ones that appeal more. You might like to use all five faded colourways or select 3; the choice is yours. Also, if you're just after a skein or two (or more!) of Top Draw Sock for something else, that's totally fine too :).
Sizes:
There are two versions of So Faded: the Cropped Version with 3/4 sleeves, and the Classic Version which has a full-length body and sleeves. Yarn requirements for both versions are listed below.
Yarn:
Top Draw Sock 437 yards / 400 meters in 95g
Cropped Version with Elbow-length Sleeves: 2 (3, 3, 3) [4, 4, 4] skeins
Classic Version with Full-length Sleeves: 3 (3, 4, 4) [5, 5, 5] skeins
The So Faded pattern by Andrea Mowry can be purchased separately over on Ravelry.
If you're more interested in knitting the Find Your Fade shawl, also by Andrea Mowry, these colour combinations would work equally well for that too as well as the new MKAL What The Fade?!
All the yarns will be in the shop Friday 11th August at 9am AEST! We hope you enjoy our pattern crush of the week and look forward to seeing all of your projects.
Have a fabulous weekend!

Pattern Crush - Ohra shawl
This week we have yet another pattern crush, the Ohra shawl by Caitlin Hunter (we seem to have a crush on all her designs!). Ohra is a triangular shawl featuring a central cable and lots of scrumptious texture, including lace, garter, stockinette and rib. Ohra also includes fun tassels that run along the bottom of the lace section; they are optional but we think they really give the shawl its unique look!
Ohra is a one-size shawl that requires four colourways; the pattern suggests two full skeins and two minis. This week we have dyed up six colour combinations that we think would look amazing. Here they are:
From the top
- Beach Shack, Night Owl, Sterling and Scribbly Gum
- Confetti, Barley, Ghost and Tres Chic
- Phosphorescent, Cosmic Dust, Sari and Spellbound
- Wintertide, Sea View, Metropolis and Peace
- Philosopher, Cafe Bleu, Early Morning Mist and Hopeless Romantic
- Autumn Plum, Love Buzz, Jersey and Eventide
All yarns will be available in the shop this Friday. As always we will be listing each yarn individually, giving you the freedom to purchase what you like. The Ohra pattern can be purchased separately over on Ravelry.
Also available this week is Merino Cashmere in a few colourways, as well as a whole heap of Merino Silk Sport (pictured above in Dandelion and Tropical Storm).
Hope you can pop by the shop this Friday at 9am AEST and check out this week's update. And, as always, have a lovely week!

Pattern Crush - Sunset Highway
This week, we're changing things up a bit by introducing a new update format called 'pattern crush of the week'. Whenever we discover a pattern that we love and know will work well with our yarns and colourways, we will dye up yarn combos or kits specifically for that design which will be made available during that week's update. This may not occur every week, just whenever we get inspired by a particular pattern. This week's pattern crush is Sunset Highway designed by Caitlin Hunter.
We absolutely adore this design and, for this week's update, have been working on some fun colour combinations. Here's what we've come up with:
From the top
- Metropolis (CC1), Blush Crush, Speckled Mint and Ghost
- Be Mine (CC1), Moonlight Drive, Cosmic Dust and Whisper
- In the Navy (CC1), Confetti, Dandelion and Early Morning Mist
- Night Owl (CC1), Spice Market, Phosphorescent and Love Buzz
- Graphite (CC1), Techno, Wasabi and Neon and Grey
The yarn base selected is Uptown Sock, which is a close substitute for the original yarn used for this design; it's also perfectly suited for colourwork. Please note that each colourway is listed separately, giving you the freedom to select your own colour combination or swap out colours for ones that appeal more to you. The first colourway listed is our choice for the first contrast colour (CC1); however, feel free to change it as the choice is yours! If you're just after a skein or two of Uptown Sock, that's totally fine too :).
Sizes:
Yarn:
Uptown Sock 400 yards / 366 meters in 100g
MC: 700 (750, 800, 850, 900, 1000) yards 640 (686, 732, 777, 823, 914) meters
CC1: 250 (270, 290, 310, 330, 350) yards 229 (247, 265, 283, 302, 320) meters
CC2: 90 (100, 110, 120, 140, 160) yards 82 (91, 101, 110, 128, 146) meters
CC3: 140 (150, 160, 170, 180, 190) yards 128 (137, 146, 155, 165, 174) meters
The pattern is sold separately; check it out over on Ravelry. Yarns will be available in our shop this Friday 28th July at 9am AEST.
We hope you enjoy our pattern crush of the week! We plan to offer more yarn and pattern combos in the following weeks - stay tuned!
Other yarns that will feature in this weeks update are the wonderfully sumptuous Silk Cashmere Lace (seen above in Beach Shack and Whitewash) and our newest lace yarn, 1ply Lace. We also have a few new additions of minis as well.
Have a wonderful week!

Classy, Shimmer and Winter Worsted
Over the past few weeks a lot of people have contacted me about the colourways I've been using for my Ohra shawl, a beautiful design by Caitlin Hunter. This week, we've dyed them all up onto our beautiful Shimmer base. The colourways are Beach Shack, Sterling, Scribbly Gum and Night Owl, all of which will be available in this weeks update!
We've also had a huge response to our Rain colourway (see below), so a ton have been dyed on our Shimmer base . Plus, there will be loads more colourways available.
Also available this week is our very sophisticated Classy yarn, a stunning mix of Merino and Silk spun as a single ply. This yarn would be perfect for shawls, cowls, wraps or an elegant top or cardi. We have a wonderful array of colours available, including the two below which are Tres Chic and Head Over Heels.
Finally, we have a selection of our Winter yarn, which is a beautiful superwash merino worsted. Great for winter jumpers and cardigans or just grab one skein for a fun winter hat or cowl. I've been crushing on the Lily Pond skeins this week, which you can see below are full of wonderful colours!
All of our new stock will be available in the shop this Friday 21st July at 9am AEST! Pop on by for a visit.
As always have a wonderful week, and if there is ever anything you would like to see in the shop, just email us and we'll try our hardest to make it happen!

Rock Your Socks
Having sock projects on hand are great on so many levels. They are easy to knit when socalising or chilling in front of the TV, are portable and can be taken anywhere, are super quick to knit, make excellent and useful gifts, and they fit MUCH better than store-bought socks. There are so many reasons to have a pair of socks on your needles.
This week, we have been focusing on sock yarns that are specifically dyed for the ultimate pair of rockin' socks. We have a choice of two yarns: our Everyday Sock which is a mix of 80% extra-fine merino and 20% Nylon, as well as the luxurious MCN Sock which is a blend of Merino, Cashmere and Nylon. Our colourways are a mix of semi-solid (great for colour-block socks!), variegated (like the picture above which shows Scribbly Gum on MCN Sock), speckled and crazy colours that knit up into micro-stripes like Rain and Bloom shown below.
In addition to sock yarns, we will also be adding some Merino Silk Sport to the shop. If you're looking for shawl or sweater yarn with drape, this is for you! Merino Silk Sport is a mix of 50% Merino and 50% Silk; unlike other silk yarns, this one is soft and easy to knit and easy on the hands. We have quite a few colours, including the ones below which are Envy and Autumn Plum.
Our update will be Friday 7th July at 9am AEST! Don't forget to head over to the shop to check it out.
Have a wonderful week!

Wear A Hug
We are absolutely thrilled this week to be revealing our newest collaboration with the very talented Kristina Vilimaite, who has designed the Wear A Hug shawl. This very wearable shawl uses two skeins of our Merino Cashmere in contrasting colours. It has a slightly asymmetrical shape that is curved at the top to sit perfectly over your shoulders. The shawl is easily customizable for those who would like a bigger shawl to curl up in (you'll need two main colour skeins and one contrast colour). All instructions are included in the pattern.
To celebrate the release of Wear A Hug, we have come up with 20 yarn combinations, using three of our favourite bases: Merino Cashmere, Uptown Sock and Top Draw Sock. The combinations are:
- Barley and Fig
- Jersey and Sea Salt
- In the Navy and Nautical
- Hopeless Romantic and Lichen
- Be Mine and Rose Hip
- Wintertide and Eventide
- Glee and Love Buzz
- Caramel and Beach Shack
- Fallow and Early Morning Mist
- Night Owl and Blush Crush
- Tundra and Scribbly Gum
- Graphite and Granite

Special Update
Shimmer, MCN Sock & Skein Sport
This week's update is full of sparkle! We have a ton of our glittery Shimmer base available in lots of fun colours. This yarn is perfect for shawls and socks, but also for cardigans, tees and pullovers. The sparkle of the silver stellina adds a nice texture and a touch of glamour to any project (pictured above is Sea Salt).
We also have plenty of MCN Sock, which is a beautiful soft blend of merino, cashmere and nylon. This yarn is can be used for just about any project and can be easily combined with Shimmer to knit stripy shawls, socks or garments. We have dyed up plenty of colours for you to mix and match (pictured above is Scribbly Gum).
Finally, our sweater yarn of the week is Skein Sport. This yarn is 100% superwash merino which has quite a firm twist (great for durability!). It's extremely soft, dyes up beautifully and feels fantastic against the skin. We've dyed up sweater quantities in six popular colours, including the three pictured above (Sari, Jersey and Perfect Day).
All yarns will be available on Friday 2nd June at 9am AEST from our shop!
Have a fantastic week!
