Pattern Notes
The Colour Melt Shawl is a simple top-down, triangular shawl that allows you to play with colour. The shawl can be knit with either three or six colours that are ‘melted’ into each other by simply knitting with two strands of each colour. It’s fun and simple to knit, making a great statement piece to wear when you are finished.

Needing help choosing or placing colours? We have put together a video on our Journal all about this shawl with some tips on putting together colour combinations.

This shawl also comes with a few different options for the border. You can choose to knit a lace border with or without a picot edge. You can also choose a more modern look that is a simple garter stitch border.

The ‘colour melt’ (where the yarn is held double) occurs in sections 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 of the pattern. An easy way to keep track of the number of repeats worked for the body of the shawl, is to count the garter ridges on the RS; one garter ridge is one repeat.
