Sweaters are usually designed and sized according to standard bust measurements. This design is a little different. Instead of using bust circumference, I have used crossback measurements, meaning there is not a lot of difference in bust sizes. This means that the smaller sizes have a lot more ease around the bust and, as the sizes go up, the ease becomes less and the garment becomes more fitted. To ensure the best possible fit, especially around the arms, make sure you choose your size according to your actual bust size. I have also included the finished bust sizes so you can get an idea of how much ease your cardi will have.
Retro is a cropped length cardigan however, if you want to add length to the body just keep knitting until you reach your desired length before you knit the ribbed hem.
Actual Bust Size (choose your size according to these measurements):
32-34 (36-38, 40-42, 44-46, 48-50, 52-54)” / 81-86 (92-97, 102-107, 112-117, 122-127, 132-137)cm circumference at bust.
For ease of reading, the above sizes will be referred to in the pattern as:
1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
Finished Bust Size:
