We've just started a shawl KAL/CAL over on Instagram!  To participate, just cast on a shawl in any weight yarn using at least one skein of our yarn.  Our KAL/CAL will run until the end of September, so plenty of time to cast on.  Please make sure you tag us or use the hashtag #skeinshawlkal2021 so we can feature you in our stories and feed as well as add you to our prize list! 

We have lots of lovely prizes from some of our favorite Australian creators.  We will of course share these as they arrive.  Prizes will be awarded to those who post pictures of their WIPs and FOs using the hashtag #skeinshawlkal2021 or by tagging us.

This week we are very excited to be introducing a new yarn base.  Silky Sock is a beautiful blend of 50% superwash merino and 50% silk.  It is heavenly soft and beautiful to knit with.  Ideal for garments and shawls and a great substitute for our discontinued base Daintree.  Each 100g skein has a yardage of 400 meters / 437 yards and is priced at $37!  We are super happy with our new yarn and we hope you love it too!  Silky Sock goes live this Friday at 9am AEST, hope to see you there.

This Friday we will be adding Sportlicious to the shop.  This lovely Sport/5ply weight yarn is a super soft superwash merino.  It's wonderful for shawls, sock and garments and is perfect for our lovely Porto sweater!  Our yarns go live 9am AEST, hope to see you there!

This Friday we will be adding lots of lovely colours dyed on our All Rounder base.  All Rounder is a 100% superwash merino which has been spun up into a very cushy 2ply which makes it ideal for shawls and garments.  As always our shop update goes live Friday at 9am AEST.  Hope to see you there!

This week, we have been dyeing up our lovely El Merino base.  This is a fingering-weight yarn that is 100% superwash merino.  It's a fabulously versatile yarn that can be used for just about any project.  Our colours this week are all variegated and include a few new colourways. We will be restocking our Silk Road base this Friday!  This fingering weight yarn is a super yummy blend of Silk, Yak and Merino.  It knits up to produce a very drapey, soft and silky fabric which makes it ideal for tops, tees and shawls.  The yarn will be in the shop this Friday at 9am AEST, make sure you are there on time as this base sells out very quickly!  If you need a reminder email, make sure you've signed up to our newsletter.  Hope to see you Friday!

Also this week we will be adding some fun mini sets to the shop.  These bundles are made up of four mini skeins, when you add one to your order we will randomly select a bundle to send to you.  That way the colours will remain a mystery.  Each pack is priced at $35 which is a bargain given that each individual skein normally sells for $12.

We are super excited to be releasing our newest design, Dandelion, this Friday!

This super snuggly sweater feels so light and cosy when knit up in our lovely Floof DK. The slipped-stitch colourwork and eyelet rows are both simple to knit and add a hint of detail to the otherwise plain-stockinette background.  The relaxed style and oversized yoke makes this sweater really comfortable to wear.  Fun and quick to knit, you’ll be tempted to make more than one.

Dandelion is knit from the top down using a simple, circular-yoke construction. The sweater is designed to fall over your shoulders and arms, like a cosy poncho, with sleeves positioned near the hem. Because the sleeves are placed low, there needs to be a lot of ease in the sweater, allowing easy movement of your arms. Make sure you select a size that is around 18-23” (46-58.5 cm) larger than your actual bust size. This will give you plenty of room to move.

The colourwork is done using slipped stitches that are super quick and easy to do. Just make sure you keep your floats nice and loose at the back of your work, otherwise the fabric will end up too tight.

Dandelion has been designed to sit at high hip; however, you can easily adjust the length by knitting a longer hem band, either by adding a few rows of stockinette before the rib, or by lengthening the rib.

55 (59, 62, 66, 69, 72, 76) ”; 134 (145, 158, 167.5, 175, 183, 193) cm circumference at bust.

Sample size is 55”(134cm) shown on a bust size of 34”(86cm). Choose a size that is around 18-23” (46-58.5 cm) larger than your actual bust size.
