João is made from the wool of Portuguese Merino sheep, a native breed found in the south of Portugal, mainly in the Alentejo. The Portuguese Merino Breeders Association (ANCORME) verifies the origin and quality of the fleece used to produce this yarn. The yarn is a sport-weight single ply with a thick, thin texture that knits up into a lovely bouncy, squishy fabric. It is dyed in gorgeous shades and can be used for garments, hats, shawls and more! It's also great for colourwork, textured fabrics like cables, and is perfect for stockinette and garter stitch, too.
Shades 400, 401 and Vega are natural undyed shades.
