Hipster Shawl by Joji Locatelli
Pattern: Hipster Shawl by Joji Locatelli
Yarn: Skein Winter (worsted) in the Neptune colourway (4 skeins)
Needles: 5mm/US 8
So I've been wanting to knit this shawl for ages and I'm so pleased I did. As usual Joji's pattern is flawless and her finished design has a wonderful modern feel. I did have issues at first getting the eyelet pattern right and I did rip back twice, but once I got the hang of it, it was fine. I will say, if you are going to knit this, make sure your triple yo's are loose! I made the mistake of making my last pattern repeat too tight and had a terrible time trying to wrestle the stitches onto my needle. I even broke a needle in half trying to slide the stitches up the needle to work them!
The pattern calls for four skeins of worsted and, after adding the tassels, I used up pretty much all four skeins. It's a big, cosy shawl, I would totally knit another. I do know that Joji is in the process of designing a Hipster Cowl, I cant wait for that to be released.
Have you knit a Hipster Shawl, or are you planning one? I would love to know xx
